CBT-I is a highly effective, first-line treatment that helps people overcome chronic insomnia by changing the thoughts and behaviors that interfere with sleep. It uses techniques like stimulus control (reassociating the bed with sleep), sleep restriction (limiting time in bed to build sleep drive), and cognitive restructuring (challenging unhelpful beliefs about sleep) to retrain the brain and body for better sleep.
